Planet Ark’s National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event.

It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.

While every day can be Tree Day, we dedicate the celebration of Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day on the last Friday and Sunday in July.

In 2023, National Tree Day is Sunday 30th July and Tropical Tree Day is Sunday 3rd December.

To find out where the closest tree planting event is visit Planet Ark’s interactive map. Just pop in your postcode and the nearest tree planting venue will appear on the map.

Since 1996 Planet Ark says 26 million trees have been planted, by five million volunteers who have given 10 million hours of their time. That’s a pretty impressive effort.

50 submissions needed to stop quarry

The undersigned contend that approval of the Stone Ridge quarry would be a clear example of ‘doing what we’ve been doing’and would represent to the Hunter and Port Stephens community, a decisive step towards maintaining our status as world class leaders in species extinction.
