Students from Kincumber Public School have visited Parliament House as part of their excursion to Canberra to learn about Australia’s system of government.
Students gained insight into how federal government works and the roles and responsibilities of members of parliament.
Students were treated with a special visit by Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, and the Education Minister, The Hon. Jason Clare MP.
“It was awesome having students, teachers, and parents from Kincumber Public School visit Parliament House in Canberra,” said Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid.
“The Education Minister also popped by to say a special hello to Kincumber Public School, which the students really appreciated.
“Students are always amazed by the scale of Parliament House, and learning about the intricacies of the building, like how many clocks there are or how many people work in the building.
“Students really enjoyed the Lego Parliament House installation too.
“It is such a privilege to represent our community in the Australian Parliament and meeting with visiting schools in Canberra.
“I hope the students left with a deeper understanding of Australian democracy and government”, Dr Reid said.
