Rising Tide organisers are touring the country to promote the organisation’s next national mobilisation.
The catchphrase for the Rising Tide info night is “disruption to end the climate destruction” and it will take place on Wednesday, October 4 at the Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre.
The next national mobilisation will be a two-day, 3000-strong, family-friendly flotilla – The People’s Blockage of the World’s Largest Coal Port.
“This forum will discuss why we need a mass, disruptive movement and how we can build one with the power to create transformative change,” Rising Tide organisers says.
According to the group’s website, “This November, take positive action for a safe climate future in one of the largest peaceful civil disobedience protests for climate action in Australia’s history.”
The event will occur on Awabakal and Worimi land and water, at Muloobinba (Newcastle, NSW).
“We’re calling for thousands of people to gather and demand an immediate end to new coal projects and the end of coal exports from the world’s largest coal port, by 2030.
“It will be a fun and family-friendly gathering, with live music and speakers and food shared by donation.
“Borrow one of our kayaks, or bring your own vessel – a kayak, tinny, yacht or surfboard!”
