West Gosford Coles has been named the third most generous Coles in NSW for their 2020 Christmas Campaign.

$11,434 was raised in total with the funds supporting food rescue organisations, SecondBite, National Children’s Cancer Charity and Redkite.

Liesl Tesch MP, Member for Gosford, commended the West Gosford Coles team for their hard work.

“This is a huge achievement for our local Coles team and a testament to our community’s investment in each other, ensuring our vulnerable members were rewarded over Christmas last year.,” Tesch said.

“Our community is so giving all year round and it is heart-warming to see that our spirit only grows stronger over Christmas,” she said.

West Gosford Coles beat their previous funding by over $10,000 last year, initiating new strategies to influence donations.

Mr James Keens, manager of Coles West Gosford said there’s even bigger plans for 2021.

“Last year we got the whole team on board, sharing personal stories, having heart-to-hearts with customers and working together to encourage as much support as possible,” Keens said.

“This result reflects our customers’ generosity and also our current West Gosford Coles construction team values, all donating to help be the change in other people’s lives,” he said.

“This year we’ve quadrupled our community funding capacity and we’re already linking up with more organisations to support our community more.

“We’ve also been given millions of dollars in investment at our Coles, ensuring our services are modern and the very best for, in our opinion, the very best customers.”

Ms Tesch said there’s never been more demand for this support.

“COVID-19 has left many people holding their hands out for help who have never had to before and it is so incredible to see Coles West Gosford’s corporate generosity, supporting our community through one of our darkest times.

“I encourage our community to keep supporting businesses who are directly supporting our community like Coles West Gosford and help make a difference.”
