The Inaugural Meeting of the Rising Tide Central Coast Hub will be held next Tuesday, May 21, at the Narara Eco Village Hall.
Last year during People’s Blockade of Newcastle – the World’s Largest Coal Port – 3,000 people attended and blocked the coal ships for 32 hours, making global news.
“It was the largest civil disobedience for climate justice in Australia’s history,” said John Seed, who was a participant in the blockade.
“Rising Tide is scaling up its response to the climate crisis and aims to have 10,000 people for a massive 10-day mobilisation from Tuesday the 19th to Thursday the 28th of November blockading the Newcastle coal port for a record 50 hours.
“Please join us to help plan a big Central Coast presence at the next People’s Blockade in Newcastle and to brainstorm ways to build a stronger social movement on the Central Coast.”
